A new group of indie developers at Orbx have banded together in order to create Detroit Metropolitan Airport (KDTW) which will be released in the new year for X-Plane 12.

Detroit Metropolitan Airport has 6 runways, spreads across 4,850 acres and features a huge amount of terminal structure, which makes it the biggest airport ever developed for Orbx. The airport will initially release in the new year for X-Plane 12 and then come to Microsoft Flight Simulator afterwards.

The airport will come with custom mesh, detailed hangar interiors, high-definition ground service equipment, accurate night lighting and more. Through the use of the SAM plug-in for X-Plane, hangar doors will be openable, jetways will be implemented and lighting effects will be toggleable.

Orbx also announced that alongside the Microsoft Flight Simulator version, a Detroit City Pack is in the works, alongside Coleman A. Young International Airport (KDET).
