Just Flight is going non-stop in creating new aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The latest development update from the team is for the next GA aircraft to join their impressive line-up. This time, it’s the PA-38 Tomahawk.
The Tomahawk continues to push the envelope for GA planes within the simulator, and the team are bringing the small aircraft to the level of standard people now expect within MSFS. This includes extensive detail in the modelling and texture. Just Flight say that this area is “nearly complete” with the focus now shifting to systems, flight dynamics and sounds.
The sound artist has recently spent the day recording a real-world aircraft for a new Wwise sound set, whilst the real-world Tomahawk pilots and instructors have been evaluating the aircraft to make sure it’ll be the best version of the plane yet.
Although the current screenshots show the default radios, it’s good to know that there is ongoing work for a custom avionics suite that will eventually replace this in the future.
The PA-38 was a fan-favourite in X-Plane and Prepar3D and will likely be just as loved when it reaches Microsoft Flight Simulator. We’ll be following the development progress and be sure to keep you in the loop.
