Flight Replicas’ L-4 Grasshopper is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Flight Replicas are known for their military aircraft in FSX and Prepar3D, but have now introduced their first aircraft to Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Originally released for FSX and P3D many years ago, thanks to MSFS’s more detailed handling, aerodynamics and visuals you’ll be able to enjoy this light aircraft once more.

The L-4 comes in three variants: Air Observation Post, General Liaison, and Floatplane.

Based upon the popular civilian Piper J-3 Cub, the L-4 Grasshopper is the military version, fitted with a single Continental engine, producing 65HP and a top speed of 75MPH. The L-4’s lightweight and nimble frame meant it was able to land on the shortest airstrips, roads and fields.

5,500 airframes were produced from 1942 to 1945, with some going to the USAAF but the majority going to the US Army Ground Forces. It was also widely used in Europe, with more than 2,700 being used with the Field Artillery.

Of those that survived, 150 were shipped back to the USA with some remaining in Europe.

The L-4 Grasshopper can be purchased from the Flight Replicas website for $15.99 USD.
